From Tire Review

Tire Review has announced the appointment of Patti Renner to the position of editor. Renner will oversee the day-to-day editorial management of the Tire Review brand, including the brand’s print, digital and social media properties.

Renner becomes only the 9th editor of Tire Review in its 115-year history and the first woman to lead the publication’s editorial mission. Her father, brother and grandparents were longtime Goodyear and BFGoodrich employees, so the tire industry is in her blood.

This will be Renner’s second stint at Babcox Media. Renner was one of the founding editors of Underhood Service, a sister publication to Tire Review. During Renner’s tenure at BMI, she also served as editor of the Automotive Training Guide and managing editor of BodyShop Business. Renner left Babcox Media in 1997 and pursued many entrepreneurial ventures including owning and operating a group of specialty retail shops; an invitation design company; and a boutique marketing services company specializing in brand development and digital optimization.

“We are excited to bring Patti back home to Babcox Media. Patti’s unique perspectives on running a small business, what it takes to be successful and wearing the many hats small business owners do will strongly resonate with independent tire dealers,” said Randy Loeser, Tire Review publisher. “Her success in building digital and print marketing programs, sales leads and leading winning teams are some of the qualities she cultivated. As our readers will come to learn, Patti is a marketing maven with high energy and a lot of creativity.”

Most recently, Renner has served as vice president of marketing for IgnitionOne, a leading global marketing technology company. Patti’s primary role was to develop and execute marketing strategy and sales support activities; content creation and distribution; and targeted digital campaigns for clients within the automotive, hospitality and retail space. Patti is also an assistant lecturer at the University of Akron.

“Returning to Babcox to serve in this role is a true privilege,” said Renner. “I have deep respect for the publications, for the industry and, as a former shop owner, I understand the challenges and the potential when you get things right. My goal is to help the Tire Review audience tap into what they need for success. It’s an exciting time.”

Renner is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and public relations. She can be reached at [email protected] or (330) 670-1234, ext. 247.
