Tucson CARSTAR Shop Named I-CAR Gold Class for 20th Straight Year

Eric Grossman’s Eric’s Auto Center CARSTAR-South in Tucson, Ariz., has been named I-CAR Gold Class for the 20th year in a row, one of the top honors in the collision repair industry.

The I-CAR Gold Class Professionals designation is among the highest recognitions for training available to businesses in the collision repair industry and is designed to help the collision industry meet its changing needs, according to I-CAR. Businesses who have earned this designation not only achieve a high level of training for each employee, but also maintain annual training to provide their customers with efficient, safe and high-quality services.

Grossman stressed that the program is critical because it is important to keep up with training and remain relevant in the industry.

"The I-CAR Gold Class certification is an honor for us and shows how important it is to keep up with training and remain relevant in the industry," said Grossman. "It shows that longevity means something. We have talked to some people around the country who have let the classification go a time or two in those years because they felt it wasn’t relevant or important. You know when you look back, and 20 years is quite a length of time to be a part of something. I think it’s a pretty important feat."

To remain I-CAR Gold Class, Grossman’s employees are required to go through classes and remain up to date on their technical training.

"Getting involved in I-CAR and pursuing your I-CAR Gold Class status is one of the best ways to get involved in the industry," Grossman said. "If you’re involved and you’re trained, good things usually happen."

Gene Lopez, I-CAR Southwest Regional Manager, is delighted for Grossman’s store to have reached such an accomplishment.

"Eric Grossman and Eric’s Auto Center CARSTAR has sustained 20 years as an I-CAR Gold Class Business," said Lopez. "This business continues to meet the I-CAR vision, which is that every person in the collision industry, current and future, has the necessary knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair. For more than 20 years, Mr. Grossman has supported the I-CAR vision and the local I-CAR district committee in Tucson, Ariz. Eric’s Auto Center CARSTAR is providing their team members with training, skill development and exposure to new trends in automotive technology; and thus is raising the bar of professionalism within the organization and within the community which they serve."

Founded in 1977 by Eric Grossman, a Tucson native, Eric’s CARSTAR was awarded the prestigious Top Shop award from AAA in 2008 and 2010. Eric’s CARSTAR is proud member of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. The body shop was the third in the nation to be I-CAR Gold certified and still is today.

Eric’s CARSTAR is a supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation and as a member of the Arizona CARSTAR Business Group he has helped the group raise over $25,000 during the past two years for the Make A Wish Foundation.
