US Officials Rethinking Position on Self-Driving Cars
Language that the federal government is revisiting specifies that in states where the public can access the cars, a licensed driver should be behind the wheel.
The AP reported that federal transportation officials are currently rethinking their position on self-driving vehicles.
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said with the technology’s rapid development, the federal policy is being updated. It’s still unclear what the new policy will be, but language that the federal government is revisiting specifies that in states where the public can access the cars, a licensed driver should be behind the wheel.
