Jason Wilson, a U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division Iraq War veteran who served as a vehicle operator in Baghdad from 2009-2010, received a newly refurbished vehicle from West Loop Auto Body1 and State Farm Insurance, through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program and the Chicago Veterans Organization.
The keys to the 2010 Toyota Corolla were presented to Wilson at a ceremony held at West Loop Auto Body1 in Chicago.
Recycled Rides is a program in which insurers, collision repairers, paint suppliers, part vendors, and others collaborate to repair and donate vehicles to deserving individuals and service organizations in local communities throughout the country.
Wilson served his country in the U.S. Army from 2009-2011 and continues serving in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary while attending Lincoln College of Technology, where he’s studying to become an auto technician.
State Farm donated the 2010 Toyota Corolla, which was refurbished by West Loop Auto Body1 technicians. Vehicle parts, materials, and services were also donated by Axalta, Finishmaster, Grossinger Autoplex Auto Group, Dent Recon, Factory Motor Parts-Chicago, Chicago Auto Recon, Car Quest Auto Parts, LKQ and Chicago Wheel Service.
“In observance of Veteran’s Day, this vehicle for Jason represents the appreciation West Loop Auto Body1 has for his services, as well as all the U.S. Military personnel serving our country,” said Drew Passaglia, West loop Auto Body1 owner.
State farm agent Linda Mitchell added, “State Farm is proud to partner with the National Auto Body Council, as well as West Loop Auto Body1, for this Recycled Ride event, as the mission of State Farm is to help people manage the risk of everyday life, and recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams.”
“I am honored and privileged because, as you all know, when you come home from the service, and try to get your life back together…,” said vehicle recipient Wilson. “I just want to thank everybody for a dream come true.”
