What Is the Status of the I-CAR OEM Portal Project?

I just reread an article from August about I-CAR getting involved in an OEM repair portal. What is the status of this project?

I just reread an article from August about I-CAR getting involved in an OEM repair portal. What is the status of this project? – Dick DeLaere, Autobody USA, Kalamazoo, Mich.

Question answered by I-CAR:

I-CAR plans to launch its "Technical Knowledge" portal as part of the Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Initiative by the end of 2013. The organization is working closely with OEMs and has received positive feedback, as well as requests to make OEM information available on the portal.

The "portal," which will be accessible through the I-CAR website, will offer daily, weekly and monthly collision repair articles that cover the latest news on vehicle technology and its impact on collision repair. New capabilities will include technical inquiry search and submission and social media initiatives for sharing technical information. Technical newsletters, a continuation of the airbag matrix and expansion of the partial replacement matrix are examples of some of the expanded technical information that will be available in the portal.

I-CAR looks forward to launching the first phase of the RTS Initiative and will continue to introduce technical support resources in phases over the coming year. Visit www.i-car.com for more information on the project and to participate in the survey.
