The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) is now accepting applications for seats on its Board of Directors. The board consists of representatives of various industry segments including collision shops, jobbers, suppliers, consultants, paint manufacturers, recyclers and insurance companies. Participants from all segments of the collision repair industry are welcome, with the only requirement being that applicants are WIN members in good standing.
“Volunteering for board service is an outstanding opportunity to have continuous influence on our industry,” said Denise Caspersen, WIN chair and chair of the Board Development/Nominating Committee. “WIN is seeking motivated members to apply for seats on our 2015 board as we continue to drive growth and success in the coming years.”
The Board of Directors provides overall strategic direction for the organization and is responsible for making policy decisions that accomplish the organization’s mission.
“Engaging at the board level is an outstanding way to advance our industry and guide the success of WIN, while building leadership skills, business acumen and invaluable industry relationships,” said Melissa Miller, a member of the current board as well as the Board Development/Nominating Committee.
The board focuses on:
- Supporting and enhancing the role women play in the industry
- Constantly improving the WIN value proposition
- Increasing industry visibility of WIN
- Supporting industry education efforts
Each year, the board updates the strategic plan, identifying the direction for the organization in the coming year. Board members contribute to the execution of that plan in a variety of ways. The volunteer board members work together to foster an environment that encourages the education, recruitment, retention and networking of women in the collision industry. Specific requirements include:
- Monthly board teleconferences
- Active involvement on a committee(s)
- Attendance at WIN Educational Conference and various industry events as available
New board members will begin their term and be introduced to the organization at large at the 2015 Educational Conference, May 4-6 in Baltimore, Md., at the Baltimore Marriott – Waterfront.
