Mastering Metallic Paints

How do I paint silver metallic with extra metallic without having the color look light on some sides and dark on others?

How do I paint silver metallic with extra metallic without having the color look light on some sides and dark on others?

Most colors on cars have a few different toners in them and thus have a flip-flop effect. If you don’t want that in a silver, then you have to eliminate all toners, go straight to the mixing bank and get a coarse silver and make it into a  basecoat – which can be done at your local auto paint store. if you desire some extra bling, then as soon as you have your silver base down, put on a coat of ice pearl, which you can easily find on the Internet. This will not show up until you get close to or are in the sun. There are many different shades of ice pearls, so I would get a silver one and make it into a basecoat, too, and fog it on. Then, you’re ready to topcoat with clear. Google “ice pearls” and look at some videos first; it might be too much bling for some people.
