Pro Finishes PLUS, an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) company headquartered in Lanham, Md., held its Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on Jan. 21. An ESOP is an employee benefit plan, which makes the employees of a company, owners of stock in that company.

At the meeting, moderated by Michelle Sullivan, president of Pro Finishes PLUS and attended by 100-plus employees, the Board of Directors announced the election of Joe Mattos as chairman of the Board and Bernie Blickenstaff as chief executive officer.

In their presentations to the group, Mattos focused on the benefits of the ESOP to each employee and how the attitude of an employee/owner benefits customers.

Blickenstaff shared his vision of "Operational Excellence" for Pro Finishes PLUS and how that can positively impact customers day-to-day operations. Sullivan laid out the plan for accomplishing that vision.

During the meeting, many employees were acknowledged for the contributions each made to the success of Pro Finishes PLUS during the past year. There was a special recognition for the 12 employees with 20-plus years of service.

Prior to the meeting, an internal trade show helped to familiarize employees with the range of services offered by each department within the company and how each has a direct effect on delivering value to customers.
