LKQ Corporation has selected a winner for its GetGreen Sweepstakes. Don K., parts manager at Fender Mender in Charleston, S.C., has received a new Chevy Cruze as a grand prize.
Fender Mender is a regional collision repair shop serving the Charleston area, and is a customer of LKQ Savannah and Keystone Charleston. Fender Mender repairs more than 2,700 cars a year and is one of the largest professional collision repair shops in the state of South Carolina.
"We strive to provide our customers with timely, affordable and effective service in a friendly, professional environment," said Don K., who has more than 35 years experience in the industry. "It is our responsibility to make sure our customers drive home with peace of mind and satisfaction knowing they received the best service and value."
As collision repair specialists, Fender Mender has been providing top quality auto body, paint and refinishing services for more than 200,000 vehicles since 1987.
Fender Mender is also recognized as a "Green Repair Shop." The company has instituted a recycling program for hazardous wastes and excess materials from repairs. These materials are sent to processing centers where more than 75 percent of them are recycled.
LKQ Corporation is committed to "going green" by preserving the environment through recycling, energy reduction and reforestation efforts. As part of its GetGreen campaign, LKQ partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 12,000 trees in U.S. forests this year.
"LKQ is committed to promoting recycling and it is gratifying to see our customers actively take part in preserving our environment," said Laurie Garcia, vice president of growth initiatives and marketing. "We commend Don K. and Fender Mender for their efforts to institute recycling as a Green Repair Shop and setting a "green" example for repair shops across the nation."
