For the second consecutive year, AkzoNobel’s Wanda brand will be the title sponsor of one of the largest Midwest street rod events of the year – Blue Suede Cruise, set for July 20-22, 2012, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Thousands of car enthusiasts will gather at the 2012 Wanda Blue Suede Cruise event to view hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trick trucks, along with concept and show cars painted in custom Wanda colors and finishes.
“We’re very excited to again participate as title sponsor of this unique event,” said Mark Rapson, AkzoNobel’s manager of Trade Brands North America. “Blue Suede Cruise provides the perfect opportunity to expand awareness for Wanda brand products while having a lot of fun at the same time.”
The weekend is set to a 1950s retro theme, wherein the live Wanda brand spokeswoman will serve as grand marshall over the Neon Parade of Lights event. A specially designed Wanda Diner will be onsite featuring hand-crafted Wanda burgers. A select number of guests will also have the opportunity to drag race during the Wanda Challenge Run on the Summit Motorsports Park racetrack.
Attendees will be treated to car repair and car care clinics presented by Wanda and Presta Products to learn more about proper vehicle repair and care through an interactive and educational presentation.
Other activities include fun-runs down the quarter-mile drag strip, all-car cruises, vendor exhibits, fireworks, and live ’50s music and entertainment.
