Nitrogen plastic welding, a technology pioneered by Polyvance (formerly Urethane Supply Company) in 2006, has now become the industry-preferred method for the repair of non-structural plastic parts such as bumper fascia and headlight tabs. Offering speed, strength and economy unsurpassed by any other repair technology, nitrogen plastic welding is now recognized by industry leaders as the most profitable way to repair non-structural plastic parts.

Polyvance, the pioneer of this technology since 2006, is now releasing its fifth-generation nitrogen plastic welder, the 6085-C Nitro Fuzer Welding System. The new Nitro Fuzer system incorporates all of the advances of the previous generation, including the automatic air-nitrogen switch, low-pressure safety switch and analog flow meter, and adds to these features a more precise digital temperature control system. The digital control allows for more precise and repeatable control of the nitrogen temperature, and it also allows for a preset temperature level to ease machine use.

The 6085-C Nitro Fuzer is designed and built in Alabama at Polyvance’s factory, using components largely sourced from U.S.-manufactured suppliers.

“We’re particularly proud of our precision regulators,” says R&D Manager Scott Bixler, designer of the new 6085-C machine. “These Ohio-manufactured diaphragm regulators offer extremely precise flow control from 0 to 10 psi, which is essential when welding the very thin plastics commonly used on automotive bumper fascia. These regulators cost 10 times more than the common pressure regulators used by our competitors, but we feel they are worth the added expense since they make the machine much easier to use.”

In business since 1981, Polyvance has focused exclusively on plastic repair and refinishing products. Their airless and hot-nitrogen welders are the industry standards for automotive plastic repair across North America. For more information, contact Kurt Lammon at (800) 633-3047.
