Carubba Collision Corp. announced that it has expanded its operations in New York state.
The MSO has added a second location in Syracuse and two new locations in the Albany area.
The newest Carubba Collision Syracuse operation is located at 601 Erie Blvd. W in the revitalized downtown area, just a few blocks from the popular Destiny Mall. The second Syracuse location will complement the existing Carubba Collision store located 12 miles away in East Syracuse, according to the MSO.
“Syracuse and Onondaga County are great communities and we are very excited about the opening of a second facility and becoming an integral part of such a growing area,” Carubba Collision President and CEO Joe Carubba said. “It is our desire to bring that same high level of quality auto body service to the Central New York area that our customers have enjoyed for so many years in Western New York and now across the entire state.”
The new 22,800-square-foot shop is located on the former V.P. Supply site. Vacant since 2014, the building has been renovated and outfitted with new state-of-the-art equipment, according to Carubba Collision. The new manager is Nate Perry, who was promoted from Carubba’s East Syracuse shop. This is the seventh that Carubba Collision location opened in the Central New York region since April 2015.
Carubba Collision’s new Syracuse location will employee 15 to 20 people in the first year of operation, according to the MSO. The new facility also includes an Enterprise Rent-A-Car operation, as well as multiple insurance carriers to handle all customer claims.
Two Shops Added in Albany Area
In the Albany Capital District, Carubba has added two shops, with the acquisition of the former Elmo’s Auto Body shops in Ballston Lake and Scotia.
Former owner Don Reckner has been in the auto body repair business since 1989 and will be retained as a consultant. All 30 employees from both locations will continue to be employed by Carubba Collision. They are active in I-CAR training, and both shops are Gold Class status.
“These are two great locations and we will continue to add employees as the demand calls for it,” Carubba said.
The two shop managers are Don Reckner and Dan Cameron.
Both facilities also include an Enterprise Rent-A-Car as well as multiple insurance companies to handle all customer claims.
With 20 stores, Carubba Collision is the largest regional MSO in New York state, according to the company.
