The Automotive Management Institute (AMI), in conjunction with Babcox Publications, announced that Curtis Evans, president and owner, Evans Automotive Service Center, Inc., Pensacola, Fla., is the recipient of the “Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship.” The scholarship recognizes a management-oriented member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division. The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend AMI seminars offered during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Las Vegas, Nov. 5-8.
Evans has worked in the automotive service industry for 19 years and has been a shop owner for the last 6. He is an ASE Certified Master Tech and Service Consultant and is currently working on completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. Evans is a member ASA, Better Business Bureau (BBB), Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various community and industry organizations.
“I am honored to receive the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and will use this opportunity to further my quest at becoming the best I can be in the automotive industry,” said Evans.
