AkzoNobel, Global Finishing Solutions Commit to Sponsoring BSB Waterborne Conference

As momentum continues to build for the 2009 BodyShop Business Waterborne Conference, AkzoNobel and Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) have become the latest companies to commit to sponsoring the highly anticipated event.

“GFS recognizes that there is a lot of confusion and misinformation circulating about waterborne coatings and the equipment required to spray it,” said Jonathan Barrick, marketing manager of GFS. “We’ve found that the best way for body shops to dispel the bad information and reinforce the good is with face-fo-face interaction among the most knowledgeable people in this industry. That’s what the BodyShop Business Waterborne Conference will provide, and GFS is proud to be a part of it.”

Tim Loden, director of marketing for AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas, said, “Business leaders today face a growing responsibility to champion the cause of building a more sustainable world. Waterborne technologies offer the collision repair industry the opportunity to take a leading role on this issue. AkzoNobel looks forward to sharing perspective on the products and processes that bring sustainable solutions to the collision repair industry.”

Other sponsors that have committed so far include: BASF, DuPont and Sherwin-Williams.

Nine other companies to date have chosen to exhibit at the conference to also promote their various low-VOC basecoat equipment and product offerings: CEG, ChemSpec, DeVilbiss, Garmat, Matrix System, SATA, UniCure, Valspar and WaterMasters.

Registration is filling up fast, so collision repair facility owners should act now to take advantage of the early-bird special pricing of $49.95, which is only available until June 1. Call (330) 670-1234 ext. 234 or visit www.waterbornefacts.com.

Also, there are still plenty of sponsor and exhibitor opportunities available. Call Doug Basford at (330) 670-1234 ext. 255 ([email protected]), Don Hemming at (330) 670-1234 ext. 286 ([email protected]) or John Zick at (949) 756-8835 ([email protected]) for more information.

The 2009 BodyShop Business Waterborne Conference will be held Aug. 13-14 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio.
