King Collision Centers, with locations in Plymouth, Pembroke and Raynham, Mass., announced it has made "environmentally conscious" modifications at each of its locations.
Bruce King, owner of King Collision Centers, says the company is incorporating a comprehensive recycling program at all three locations. The company not only participates in the traditional recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, fluorescent bulbs and printer ink cartridges, it also recycles sheet and scrap metal, tires, used parts, filters, radiators, bumpers, headlights, aluminum and total loss cars. Waste oil, antifreeze, paints, thinners and batteries are recycled by a licensed waster hauler. With the new program, the company says it produces no hazardous waste and will recycle anything that can be recycled.
King Collision says its state-of-the-art spray guns, paint gun washers and paint-mixing system also reduces overall product waste at its locations. The company says it’s also considering switching to waterborne paint in the future.
“We’d really like to bring this full circle. So, in addition to recycling and switching to products that are environmentally friendly, we’re also looking at more ways to improve energy efficiency,” said King.
