AkzoNobel National Independent Wholesalers Conference Convenes in New Orleans

AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas hosted the members of its North American Independent Wholesaler network April 20 thru 22 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, La.

AkzoNobel says its Independent Wholesalers Association was an early innovation in manufacturer and distribution relations in the collision repair industry. The practice first began when AkzoNobel entered the North American market in the early 1980s. The association is monitored by a representative board of directors from businesses in both the United States and Canada. These representatives work with AkzoNobel in a collaborative fashion to anticipate market trends and needs within the collision repair industry.

Following a tumultuous year in the global economic arena, the 2010 conference focused on key growth issues and opportunities facing the industry. Topics included an analysis of current market conditions, a review of new product and service innovations, as well as programs and tools that will aid in creating growth during the complexities of the current business environment.

“Our distribution network is one of the best in the industry, and we are very optimistic about the possibilities that we see for 2010,” said Doug Holmberg, North American director of sales for AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes. “We don’t minimize the challenges that remain in the global economy. However, we do believe that now is the time to make sure that we have alignment in all areas of our business. Our independent distribution network is a vital component to our business and those who are involved are valued partners.”
