H&V Collision Brings National Donation Program to Albany

H&V Collision Centers have partnered with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany (CCDA), and State Farm to donate a vehicle to a community member in need as part of the 2010 Recycled Rides Program. The donation was possible because of Recycled Rides, a program sponsored by the National Auto Body Council (NABC). State Farm works with the council to donate vehicles in communities across the country.

Recycled Rides is a nationwide awareness project where members of the National Auto Body Council (NABC) – a not-for-profit organization, repair and donate recycled vehicles to families in need.

Recycled Rides is scheduled to make simultaneous donations throughout the country the week of Thanksgiving.

“Our goal is to help people in our local community,” said Vartan Jerian Jr., owner of H&V Collision. "The program allows H&V to make a positive impact for a family in need right here in our community and across the country.”

The CCDA Wheels for Work program, which has been in operation for almost a decade, has provided hundreds of families in the Capital Region with cars needed to get to and from work. The Wheels For Work Program provides used, privately donated vehicles to qualified, low-income Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady County residents so they will be able to keep working and have the means to explore better paying, more stable employment opportunities.

“We are excited about participating in Recycled Rides,” said Michelle Abel of CCDA. “H&V has a long history of helping those in need in our community and we’re proud to be a part of this program. We’ll work diligently to find the perfect match for this donation.”
