STRANGE BUT TRUE: Man Crashes Car into DMV after Passing Driving Test

A 34-year-old Pennsylvania man who just passed his driver’s license test crashed his vehicle into the Collier, Pa., Driver’s License Center…all while the examiner who administered his driving test sat in the passenger seat.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that Robert Keller, 34, had pulled into a parking space to drop off the tester and forgot to put the car in park. Then, when the car started moving, he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. He crashed into the front of the building, slamming through the front door and a glass wall. Four people were treated for minor injuries.

But Keller must have beginner’s luck – local police said the mishap was simply an accident, and it apparently had no bearing on his status as a licensed driver.

"He shook up a couple people, but he’s not going to be cited," Collier Police Chief Thomas Devan said.
