Record Turnout Highlights NORTHEAST 2011

The largest turnout of automotive repairers, vendors and industry representatives ever to attend the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ)’s NORTHEAST 2011 Automotive Services Show, sponsored by BASF, the Chemical Company, at the Meadowlands Exposition Center came together over the weekend of March 18 as AASP/NJ welcomed its first “Automotive Week” to their 34th annual flagship event.

Over 150 vendors and thousands of attendees filled the aisles of the Northeast’s largest gathering of automotive service repair professionals. Jeff McDowell, AASP/NJ president, was thrilled with the industry response.

“This is our third year holding the show at the Meadowlands, and I finally think we have reached the potential we knew was here all along,” he says. “The turnout was fantastic. The vendors were incredible. The seminars were packed — I could go on and on. It was, simply put, the best show we have ever had.”

NORTHEAST 2011’s “Automotive Week” featured a full slate of events featuring SCRS, CIC, the NABC, I-CAR and the Assured Performance Network as well as show seminars covering topics such as waterborne paint, aftermarket parts, estimating and risk management among many others.

“Having these national groups come in was an added incentive for people to come out to the show,” McDowell adds. “Each group brought something new and fresh to the event, and AASP/NJ is proud that the NORTHEAST show is thought of so highly in national circles.”

McDowell says AASP/NJ can’t wait to get started on NORTHEAST 2012.

“We have set a new standard this year,” he said, “and we are determined to top that next year and in the years to come."
