Nominations for the 2012 Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry (MIW) awards are now being accepted by AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings Americas.
AkzoNobel says its Most Influential Women (MIW) awards program honors the contributions of exceptional leaders who are having an impact on the industry with their leadership, vision, commitment to excellence and willingness to give back to their communities. Now in its 13th year, the MIW program recognizes achievement while contributing to the sustainability of success through a scholarship program, according to AkzoNobel.
The MIW program has recognized more than 85 leaders who have influenced the collision repair industry, including technicians, shop managers, entrepreneurs, suppliers, association executives, consultants and industry advocates. The honorees for 2012 will be announced on July 19 in San Antonio, Texas.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized as one of a group of extraordinary women who has given so much to the industry and communities. Each individual’s story and personal experience represents an inspiration and a challenge, ” said Susanna Gotsch, director, industry analyst at CCC Information Services, Inc., who was recognized as a MIW in 2011. “Through the program, AkzoNobel demonstrates its commitment to recognizing innovators and promoting the industry.”
Each year, AkzoNobel contributes $25,000 to the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) MIW Scholarship Fund in honor of the MIW award recipients. This fund is used to help provide scholarships to deserving students who desire to pursue careers in the collision repair industry.
“Through the Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry Award, AkzoNobel and the Collision Repair Education Foundation recognize the leaders who are making essential contributions to our industry today, while helping to prepare young students to achieve their career dreams in the future,” said Scott Kruger, CREF executive director. “We are honored to be a part of this scholarship program that supports the advancement and sustainability of our industry.”
