The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) announced it will be continuing its annual tradition on the green with the 15th Annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 16 at the Colonia Country Club.
The popular event brings members of the automotive community together year after year in memory of former board member Lou Scoras. Proceeds from the event go towards a collision industry scholarship fund aimed at encouraging young people to consider a career in collision repair.
“This year’s AASP/NJ Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing will mark the 15th year that AASP/NJ has honored former shop owner and association leader Lou Scoras since his passing,” said Charles Bryant, executive director of AASP/NJ. “It also marks the first year since the passing of industry legend Lee Vetland. Lee was not only a tremendous AASP/NJ supporter but also part owner in the Colonia Country Club where the outing has been held for many years now. We plan on celebrating Lee’s memory with a special presentation at the dinner following the tournament. As always, this year’s outing will be a great opportunity for longtime repair professionals to come together with new up-and-coming industry members for a day in the sun. It’s a chance to not only leave the day-to-day stress of running a business at the shop, but also to remember people like Lou and Lee who dedicated so much of their time to making the industry better.”
Added AASP/NJ President Jerry McNee, “Take the half day off and come enjoy time with others within the industry. Come support the cause and be part of the team.”
The day will begin with registration at 10 a.m. and lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The golf outing will conclude with a cash bar, dinner and prizes at 6 p.m.
