AkzoNobel Releases Second Edition of Sikkens ColorScala Pro

AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings (A&AC) has released Sikkens ColorScala Pro, 2nd Edition, an upgrade on its variant color documentation system. The vehicle refinishing industry is already familiar with ColorScala Pro, but with 2nd Edition, repair professionals get higher gloss paint swatches, which provide more accurate and reliable color representation, resulting in better color accuracy, according to the company.

Changes in the paint formulation deliver improved durability as well, AkzoNobel says. ColorScala Pro, 2nd Edition, which is also produced more sustainably than the previous release, is tailored to local needs with specific content for North America, EMEA, Japan and Australia-New Zealand. It is slated for general release in April.

“Both our customers and sales force have been enthusiastic about the color accuracy of ColorScala Pro since we first introduced it three years ago,” said Ralf Schueler, marketing director, A&AC. “Now, with the 2nd Edition, we are making an upgrade in terms of quality while also adopting production methods which result in less paint and less waste to achieve in better results. Customers will undoubtedly notice the higher gloss swatches. Not only is the appearance better, but the high gloss is more resistant to wear and tear than the previous version. And in combination with our state-of-the-art Sikkens Mixit Pro color retrieval software, our customers have the absolute best tools on the market to make certain they get color right with every repair.”

“Customers who have previewed the ColorScala Pro, 2nd Edition tell us that it provides them with an unrivalled system for achieving color accuracy. We’re once again demonstrating our color leadership in the vehicle refinishes industry,” adds Ben Zweers, Director Color Marketing, A&AC.
