CARSTAR Hands Out Awards for CSI, Marketing, Philanthropy at Annual Conference

Several CARSTAR stores were honored at the company’s recent CARSTAR National Conference in Hot Springs, Va.

Among the stores being recognized were stores with outstanding CSI ratings.

For sales under $750,000, the Outstanding CSI winner was Cusimano’s CARSTAR of Falconer, N.Y., and owner John Cusimano who also won in 2009 as well.

For sales of $750,000 to $1,250,000, the Outstanding CSI recipient was C&H CARSTAR in Fairborn, Ohio, owned by Ed Collins.

The honoree for Outstanding CSI of a store with sales of $1,250,000 to $2,000,000 was Blake’s CARSTAR in LaPorte, Ind., owned by Scott Blake who also won 2009.

And for Outstanding CSI for a store with sales of more than $2,000,000, the award went to Randy & Bob’s CARSTAR in Chicora, Pa., led by Randy Miller, who also won in 2009.

The winning store for Overall Outstanding CSI was Blake’s CARSTAR and owner Scott Blake. It is the third year in a row that Blake and his team earned the honor.

"How we take care of our customers is a critical element of our ‘Relax. We’ll Take It From Here’ culture," said Dick Cross. "These four CARSTAR stores and franchisees have demonstrated exemplary skills in caring for each and every customer that visits their businesses. This commitment to excellent, compassionate customer service builds their brand and their sales in their local markets, and guides us all in bringing that same passion for CSI to our own operations."

At the event, CARSTAR also named the winners of its marketing awards, which recognize the stores and franchisees that deliver the most impactful marketing programs throughout the year.

For the second year, CARSTAR also honored local CARSTAR stores’ philanthropic activities with special awards such as Extraordinary Individual Store Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation, Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation and Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution.

The award winners included:

Marketing Manager of the Year

Steve Rigsby, marketing manager for the Colorado CARSTAR Business Group, was named Marketing Manager of the Year again in 2010. To earn the award, a marketing manager must have attended the marketing conference; supported corporate marketing programs like ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars and Soaps It Up; worked as a marketing manager for at least one year; and participated in community involvement and creative marketing solutions.

Emerging Market Store of the Year

The award for Emerging Market Store of the Year went to Sidney Body CARSTAR in Sidney, Ohio. The honor was based on image compliance, CSI rating, micro site/compliant website, and use of the corporate marketing programs including ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars and Soaps It Up.

Business Group of the Year

The Business Group of the Year honor was awarded to the St. Louis Business Group.  It was selected for its image compliance, combined CSI rating, dedicated marketing representative, micro site/compliant website, and use of the corporate marketing programs including ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars and Soaps It Up.

Awards Honor Stores Philanthropic Activities

Two of the unique awards are the Extraordinary Individual Store Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation and Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation. These awards are presented to both an individual store and a Business Group for their efforts in going above and beyond the normal call of duty to support the Make-A-Wish foundation. These recipients were selected based on their proactive approach to support the Make-A-Wish foundation in their local market.

The recipient of the Extraordinary Individual Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation is Kurt’s CARSTAR Collision Center in the St Louis, Mo., area and also won in 2010.

The recipient of the Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation is the St. Louis Business Group.

The third marketing award is for Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution. Jordan Road CARSTAR in Centennial, Colo., led the effort with the most cars washed and the largest donation collected, so was named the 2009 Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution winner.

"All of these stores, business groups and individuals have done a tremendous job of building the CARSTAR brand locally and nationally over the past year," said Cross. "They have delivered unique, creative marketing programs that have helped drive sales, increase our market share and set apart the CARSTAR brand in the marketplace."
