CARSTAR Launches 2010 National SuperStang Tour

Tour will wrap up with sweepstakes to win 2007 High Performance Hertz Shelby Mustang.

CARSTAR Collision Centers kicked off the 2010 SuperStang National Muscle Tour at the Shelbyfest on April 23 and 24, 2010, in Hermann, Mo.

The tour features the special SuperStang rebuilt 1967 Mustang that CARSTAR created in 2007. This one-of-a-kind vehicle has made hundreds of stops on a national tour, including CARSTAR stores, community events and automotive events.

For 2010, CARSTAR and Hertz partnered to give the original CARSTAR SuperStang a new SisterStang, a 2007 High Performance Hertz Shelby Mustang. Starting this spring, the two Mustangs will travel across the United States to support local charities. They are expected to make appearances all over the country at different events and fundraisers.

The tour will end with a sweepstakes to win the SisterStang.

“The SuperStang Muscle Tour combines two things we at CARSTAR are passionate about – beautiful automobiles and helping children and their families in a time of need,” said Dick Cross, chairman and CEO of CARSTAR Collision Centers. “With the SuperStang Muscle Tour, we are able to work in our franchisees’ communities to support local charities, and we can inspire car fans with these two amazing Mustangs.”

The tour kicked off at Shelbyfest, an event which supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri. Through its national events and other activities, CARSTAR has raised more than $300,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and continues to raise funds for the Foundation through its ongoing programs.

The SuperStang Muscle Tour is sponsored by Hertz, BASF, 3M, Mitchell, FinishMaster, R&A Motorsports and Chief Automobile Technologies.
