CIECA to Hold Webinar on New Standards Release

CIECA announced that its second standards release of the year, the 2023R2, is now available to members.

The Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) announced that its second standards release of the year, the 2023R2, is now available to members. A CIECA technical webinar will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. EST to discuss the release, as well as CIECA’s new standards — CIECA API Standards (CAPIS).

The following will be discussed during the webinar:

  • BMS updates made to the 2023R2
  • Information about the development of CAPIS, how they are being structured and ways in which the standards can help member companies
  • Two member companies will talk about their use of CAPIS
  • Using CIECA Standards with popular tools

Presenters include CIECA Architecture Committee members Andy Bober, a software engineer at Entegral; Mike Hastings, a product manager at Car-Part.com; CIECA Board of Trustees member Jeff Schroder, founding CEO of Car-Part.com; Architecture Committee Chair Dan Webster, principal architect, IT Enterprise at Enlyte; and Paulette Reed, CIECA’s technical project manager.

Prior to the release, the Architecture committee held a quality assurance (QA) virtual meeting on Oct.10 to review the changes to the BMS, code list, instance documents and schemas; verify they meet the Architecture guidelines; validate spelling; and ensure all changes to the BMS are in the schema. The committee publishes updated collision industry standards twice a year.
