Dallas-Area Dealership Shop Switches to Waterborne with Sherwin-Williams

Toyota of Irving, a Dallas-area new car dealership and collision repair facility, has transitioned its collision center to waterborne basecoat from solvent-based systems using the AWX Waterborne Basecoat System from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corporation (SWAFC), according to David Shirley, Toyota of Irving body shop manager.

SWAFC recently introduced AWX, a waterborne basecoat system that utilizes a proprietary resin technology that the company says allows its to behave like solventborne systems.

“We’re very pleased to switch to this new coating system and will continue to give our customers superior results for their collision repairs as well as help to improve our air quality,” Shirley said. “We didn’t switch because we had to, but because it’s a win-win situation. By transitioning to the new AWX system, we’ve made a commitment to our customers and our community.”

For more information, visit Toyota of Irving at 2300 Texas Drive, Irving, Texas 75062, or visit www.toyota-irving.com. For information on AWX or waterborne coatings, visit www.sherwin-automotive.com/lowvoc.
