Collision Hub announced plans to host a new program for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada centered around educating young women on career opportunities within the collision repair industry on Tuesday, Oct. 12, during the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE). ASRW includes NACE and CARS and is scheduled for Oct. 11-13, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The program, "Tools for Success," will be held from 3:45-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. During this time, the Girl Scouts will gain access to leading women in the field and learn about the diverse career opportunities within the collision repair industry and the incredible work being done by people in this field.
"We believe in this program and commend Collision Hub for spearheading an effort to creatively expose this untapped demographic to the collision repair industry and all that it offers," says ASA Collision Division Manager Denise Caspersen. "We look forward to welcoming the Girl Scouts to our event."
Collision Hub will be partnering with the National Autobody Council (NABC); Women’s Industry Network (WIN) and the I-CAR Education Foundation to educate, encourage and empower young women.
"In addition to their time on the NACE floor visiting selected company booths, we will also introduce them to the works of the Women’s Industry Network and the National Autobody Council’s Recycled Rides Program," said Kristen Felder, Collision Hub Founder and CEO. "We believe that Oct. 12, 2010 will be the beginning of a wonderful career exploration and mentoring program between the Girl Scouts of America and the collision repair industry at large."
"We are eager to introduce the Girl Scouts to the collision repair industry. I’m confident they will discover the industry offers a wide variety of career opportunities as well as the educational resources necessary to be successful," said Toni Slaton, AAM, Automotive Management Institute (AMI) Director.
