Industry professionals interested in understanding Honda’s vehicle-specific repair procedures will soon have a new training opportunity from I-CAR. I-CAR introduced its newest training course, Collision Repair for Honda and Acura Vehicles (HON01) to the industry on Oct. 10 during the NACE expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Jeff Peevy, I-CAR director of field operations, said, “Understanding vehicle maker repair recommendations and position statements are key to achieving a safe and complete repair. American Honda’s Technical Training Operations group and the Wholesale Parts Marketing department have defined Honda’s vehicle-specific repair procedures and worked closely with I-CAR to bring a course to the industry that features its vehicles and addresses training requirements of several roles in I-CAR’s Professional Development Program.”
Peevy continued, “Collision repair facility staff members who are estimators, steel structural technicians and non-structural technicians, as well as appraisers in the insurance industry, will benefit from the Collision Repair for Honda and Acura Vehicles course. This course provides detail on Honda’s vehicle-specific repair procedures, information on mechanical, electrical, hybrid electric, and alternative fuel vehicles, general corrosion protection and refinishing procedures, and construction materials used in these vehicles. The course also touches on accessing information through Honda’s technical information site and electronic ordering through Honda’s Collision Select Program.”
