I-CAR Recognizes Past Advisory Council Chairs

I-CAR recognized two industry leaders as they concluded serving as chairmen of the training organization’s Industry Segment Advisory Councils (ISACs) at meetings held this month in Las Vegas during NACE. Paul Blaski, training director with Sterling Autobody Centers, served as chairman of the Collision Repair Facility ISAC, and Mike DeVoss, estimatic section manager with State Farm Insurance, served as chairman of the Insurance ISAC.

Both were recognized for their contributions in serving as the first chairmen of the committees, which were created two years ago as a means of gathering regular feedback from professionals within the collision repair industry.

Since the inception of the committees, I-CAR has worked with members regularly to gather perspectives on new product ideas, course content and other I-CAR services to improve its product line and ensure that courses are delivered in a timely and relevant manner.

“Paul and Mike’s leadership and dedication have played an important role in I-CAR’s desire to listen carefully to the voice of the customer at several steps during the process of bringing new courses to the industry,” said I-CAR Director of Marketing Joyce Kasmer. “As we move toward a new role-based curriculum structure, they’ve continued to help provide the necessary leadership for making decisions that will impact the future of I-CAR training in a very positive manner. We are grateful for the contributions they’ve made to I-CAR and the inter-industry.”

Aaron Clark, president of Collision Solutions, will succeed Blaski as chair of the Collision Repair Facility ISAC, and Scott Kohl, vice president and manager for Safeco Insurance, will serve as chairman of the Insurance ISAC. Blaski and DeVoss will continue to serve on their respective councils as past chairmen.

In addition to Blaski and Clark, members of the Collision Repair ISAC include Brett Bailey, A&B CARSTAR; Barry Dorn, Dorn’s Body & Paint; Rose Grenell, ABRA Auto Body & Glass; Craig Griffin, Laney’s Collision; Jeff Leatherock, Hammer & Dolly Body Shop; Chuck Lee, Gerber Collision & Glass; and Jim Pickett, Service King.

DeVoss and Kohl are joined on the Insurance ISAC by Chris Andreoli, Progressive Insurance; Jim Gadberry, Nationwide Insurance; James Giles, American National Property & Casualty; Randy Hanson, Allstate Insurance; Tim Hession, Geico Insurance; Craig LeBlanc, Farmers Insurance; Omar Montalvo, Travelers Insurance; Gerry Poirier, Farmers Insurance; Steve Price, Progressive Insurance; Kyle Thompson, USAA Insurance; and Chuck Williams, Unitrin/Kemper Insurance.
