LKQ Launches 2011 Calendar Competition for Car Enthusiasts

LKQ Corporation has kicked off its annual Car Calendar Competition. Entrants can have their classic, custom or project cars or trucks featured in LKQ’s 2011 calendar by submitting entries through Sept. 15.

During the contest period, LKQ is also offering 10 percent off all Goodmark muscle car and truck purchases. For more information on Goodmark parts available, visit www.LKQMuscleCar.com.

All entrants who submit a photograph by the deadline will receive a free limited edition 2011 LKQ Calendar Competition t-shirt.  

Twelve winners will receive a spot in the 2011 calendar plus a copy of the calendar, a framed 24-by-36-inch poster of their winning entry, a professional car care kit from the Keystone Platinum Refinish Detail Series ($50 retail value), a full-color Goodmark catalog and a $100 gift certificate for Goodmark muscle car and truck parts.

The LKQ 2011 Calendar contains over $250 in valuable discount coupons exclusively for LKQ customers.  These discount coupons can be redeemed on a wide variety of recycled, aftermarket and reconditioned products.

Winning vehicles from last year’s contest included everything from a 1931 Ford Model A custom street rod to a 1967 Camaro RS.

Photo Requirements

Quality
For digital photography, use a minimum of a 6.1 megapixel camera. Do not compress or shrink the photos to reduce the file size. Send the original, unedited file at its largest size. If the image(s) is too large to e-mail, then please mail a CD. Attach all image files to the e-mail. Do not copy/paste or embed the image in the body of the e-mail. Do not send links to online photo sharing websites.

For mailed entries, please send 8×10 photos using a minimum 6.1 megapixel camera. To ensure photo(s) arrive safe and sound, proper shipping care is advised.

Content
Be aware of what’s around your vehicle. Choose scenery or a background you would want to see in a national calendar. Do not shoot your vehicle in your driveway, garage or in front of your house. Do not have people in the photograph. Do not have more than one vehicle in the shot. Be aware of shadows, reflections and glares that may ruin the shot. Do not include text or logos in the photo.
