The Eighth Annual I-CAR Education Foundation Golf Tournament, sponsored by PPG Industries, raised over $20,000 for the I-CAR Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign making it the largest annual golf fundraiser to date. Held at the Langston Golf Course in Washington, D.C., on July 30, 72 golfers hit the fairway to raise funds for upcoming scholarships and grants for collision schools and students. In addition, a portion of the funds raised will go to the Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship, in honor of former I-CAR Development Manager Lon Baudoux.
“I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we had an enjoyable day at a historic Washington, D.C., golf course,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation executive director. “Thank you to everyone who joined us and special thanks to our sponsors who helped make this our most successful golf fundraising event to date.”
Domenic Brusco, senior manager of industry relations for PPG Industries, added, “We are pleased that the 2009 I-CAR Education Foundation golf tournament was a success. PPG’s commitment to help increase the educational opportunities for collision students and students across the country makes partnering with the I-CAR Education Foundation an excellent choice. PPG has been a sponsor of the I-CAR Education Foundation since 1993 and will continue our support and efforts in educating collision industry employees of tomorrow.”
