Jaguar Land Rover have approved the AWX waterborne refinish system from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. (SWAFC) for refinish paint materials centers on a global basis.
“We are continually looking to develop new products and high standards of procedures to provide continuous and ongoing product quality improvements to help ensure customer satisfaction,” said Craig Williams, SWAFC director of OEM, Global Marketing, and Services. “Our mission is finding the right solutions for all our customers, and the approval of Sherwin-Williams Automotive refinish paint materials for Jaguar Land Rover service repairs is yet another affirmation of the superior standards we adhere to every day.”
Sherwin-Williams recently introduced AWX, a waterborne basecoat/clearcoat system that uses a proprietary resin system that behaves like a solventborne system. Unlike solventborne basecoats, AWX ensures up to a 96 percent reduction in VOC emissions while reducing hazardous waste generation. Because AWX has solventborne-like application properties, SWAFC says the line ensures a “seamless” transition and conversion to waterborne.
