STRANGE BUT TRUE: Driving Lesson Goes Bad When Van Crashes Into Bedroom

A driving lesson on Good Luck Road in Lanham, Md., had an unlucky ending when a minivan crashed through the wall of an apartment and right into a bedroom.

On Monday morning, a man was teaching his friend – an illegal immigrant and unlicensed driver – to drive. Witnesses say the two were parked near the apartment building when the van suddenly accelerated and crashed through a ground-floor apartment, the Business Gazette reported. Police told the newspaper the pair were discussing driving procedures just before the accident happened.

A man inside the apartment who had been lying on the bed just moments before the crash suffered a leg injury from flying debris. The driver and passenger weren’t injured.

The pair was charged with reckless endangerment, and the driver also was charged with driving without a license.
