Virtual Paint Training Offered at BodyShop Business Trade Show May 5

Ever wished you could perfect your painting technique without having to suit up or waste valuable product? You’ll have the chance at the 2011 BodyShop Business Conference & Trade Show – Strategies for Success, slated for May 5 at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill.

The trade show, which is free for collision repairers, students and instructors to attend, will feature the unique VirtualPaint training station hosted by the Iowa Waste Reduction Center where repairers can see who’s got the right stuff when it comes to auto refinishing.

The VirtualPaint training system uses the latest technologies to train current and future spray technicians without wasting time and money. The system allows users to view and interact with real spray application equipment while simulating the actual application onto a virtual surface.

The VirtualPaint software provides instantaneous feedback, determining the spray pattern distribution, film thickness, transfer efficiency and overspray in real time. The computer and tracking system communicate to a projector, which displays the VirtualPaint canvas onto a portable rear projection screen.

"This is sure to be a popular attraction on the show floor, and no doubt will be loads of fun for everyone to try out," said BodyShop Business Publisher Scott Shriber.

In addition to the VirtualPaint station, the free-to-attend trade show will feature a wide array of companies exhibiting the latest products and equipment for your shop. Everything from information systems to body parts, spray guns to spraybooths, will be on display.
