The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) has announced its scholarship winners for the 2011 Women’s Industry Network Conference to be held May 1-3 at the Westin Gaslamp Hotel in San Diego, Calif. In keeping with its mission to support and encourage women who are entering the industry, WIN has offered six free conference registrations to current students.
“Our organization believes that we have an obligation to promote the entry of young women into our industry, and WIN’s annual conference is one way to do that. At last year’s conference in Orlando, 150 women attended, including a handful of students who were embraced, cheered and encouraged by the group. It was one of the most meaningful and satisfying parts of the conference,” said Jennifer Justice-Haley, secretary/operations manager for Valley Paint & Body in Ohio, who is a WIN Board member and serves on the Education/Scholarship committee. “I’m especially excited about this year’s scholarship recipients. WIN had a record-setting year with over 20 student applications.”
The student scholarship winners are: Hannah Nickles, Ozarks Technical Community College; Kendy Maddox, Southeast Community College; Rickia Mines, Center of Applied Technology North; Jessica Crowley, College of Western Idaho; Jessica Gauthier, Green River Community College; and Mollee Lunkwitz, Southeast Community College.
WIN also awarded two instructor scholarships to Michele Charlebois-Didreckson, Ozarks Community College, and Rodney Bolton, The Center of Applied Technology North. In addition, two collision repair center employee scholarships were awarded to Tona Haywood, Gautier’s Auto Body and Glass, Inc., and Teresa Super, TGIF Body Shop.
“We are thrilled to have these 10 scholarship recipients attending our annual conference,” said Justice-Haley.
The keynote speaker at this year’s conference will be Jennifer Sertl. WIN members will experience the transformative insight of Strategy, Leadership and the Soul. She will guide attendees through what it means to be strategic in the 21st century, what it takes to be a leader, and how the soul of your business as well as your personal soul will drive your business and personal success in years to come.
