Zara’s Collision Center, based in Springfield, Ill., announced that it recently switched to using waterborne paints.
“We feel it’s the right thing to do,” said Brad Zara, owner. “We want to be a responsible corporate citizen, and also feel that Zara’s is a leader in the collision repair industry so it’s our responsibility to set an example for other shops.”
California requires all collision repair shops to implement waterborne paints by the end of the year. Some shops have implemented the technology before regulations mandate its use.
“The waterborne paints are excellent products besides being good for the environment,” said Zara. “Quality is not sacrificed by making the switch. The waterborne paints produce a beautiful, long-lasting finish that our customers are very satisfied with.”
