Uni-Select Inc. Acquires Two Aftermarket Distributors

Acquisitions strengthen FinishMaster’s footprint in Southern California and complement existing operations in the North Carolina market.

Uni-Select Inc. announced that its subsidiary, FinishMaster, Inc., has recently completed the acquisition of the assets of two aftermarket distributors, Ray’s Auto Paints & Supplies, Inc., in North Hollywood, Calif., and Sandhills Automotive Refinishes, Inc., in Fayetteville, N.C. FinishMaster states that these acquisitions strengthen its footprint in Southern California and complement existing operations in the North Carolina market.

Ray’s Auto Paint & Supplies has served the market for more than 40 years from a single location in North Hollywood. Customer service and technical support are long-standing fundamentals of the operation and will serve as a complement, FinishMaster says, to its vision and core values. FinishMaster currently operates 27 other locations in California.

Sandhills Automotive Refinishes has been serving the Fayetteville market since 1999. This addition broadens FinishMaster’s reach in Fayetteville through gained distribution rights of an additional paint line. FinishMaster currently operates six locations in North Carolina.

“FinishMaster has a long history of integrating successful family-owned businesses into our family,” said Steve Arndt, president and COO of FinishMaster. “The addition of both Ray’s and Sandhills enhances our ability to bring value through a broader footprint and improved product offering. These transactions are an example of our commitment to increasing our presence in markets we currently serve, maximizing service levels and driving value for all of our stakeholders.”

Henry Buckley, COO of Uni-Select Inc., added, “There are significant opportunities to build out our business at FinishMaster through select acquisitions in markets across the U.S., and we are highly focused on accelerating growth.”
