Nu-Look Collision Donates $6,000 to Needy Families for Second Consecutive Year

Nu-Look Collision, a 10-store operation located in the Greater Rochester area, has announced it is donating $6,000 in Wegmans gift cards to deserving families in the Rochester area for the second consecutive year. Nu-Look contacted the Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) of East Rochester with the idea to give $2,000 per family to three families to help them out not only around the holidays, but also over an extended period of time.

Nu-Look Collision decided to buy Wegmans gift cards in $100 increments and distribute them once a week over a 20-week timeframe for each of the three families. The giving started on December 21 this year so the money could be put to good use right before Christmas, either for groceries, a Christmas meal or to use toward gifts.

“We know that many charitable organizations receive donations around the holidays, so we wanted to do more of an ongoing contribution that the families could benefit from over the next few months," said Karin Thon, Nu-Look Collision’s director of marketing. "And we figured the Wegmans gift cards could go a long way to help out these families during a 20-week time period.”

Nu-Look Collision worked closely with the staff at BOCES to come up with the plan. BOCES found three families that could benefit from the money, due to various circumstances (financial and medical). The money is being distributed once a week from December 2012 through April 2013.
