National Auto Body Council to Donate Five Vehicles Through Recycled Rides

"Ride-Away Day" to take place Saturday, Feb. 16 in Dallas, Texas.

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) will be gifting five Recycled Rides to deserving Dallas-area families on Saturday, Feb. 16. The presentation, known as Recycled Rides’ Ride-Away Day, will take place at 11 a.m. at Team Vandergriff Collision Center, one of five participating local area dealership collision centers affiliated with the Van Tuyl Group Inc.

“The program brings together different segments of the industry for the greater good by providing reliable transportation to those who might not otherwise have access to it,” said Rafael Hinojos, collision business development director for the Van Tuyl Group. “Industry participants find they get a great lift from putting their skills to use to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Many find it so compelling they decide to repeat involvement, year after year.”

Each Recycled Rides event is local in focus, and the program works with charities in specific geographic areas to find qualified recipients who need a vehicle to help them continue leading productive lives. The charities participating in this event include Trinity River Mission and the Irving chapter of Family Promise.

The cars to be refurbished were donated by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz Rent-a-Car, Farmers Insurance and two of the participating shops. The five local collision centers that donated their labor to refurbish the vehicles are:

• Team Vandergriff Collision Center
• Vandergriff Collision North
• Vandergriff Collision South
• Westway Ford Collision (also donated vehicle)
• Grapevine Ford Collision (also donated vehicle)
