CARSTAR of Northwest Indiana Hosts Successful Charity Golf Outing

Eighth annual event benefited Make-A-Wish Foundation Indiana Region.

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts of Northwest Indiana held their Eighth Annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation Indiana Region. The event was hosted at Youche Country Club and yielded more than 60 hole sponsors and 148 golfers.

Also in attendance were the two current wish recipients and one of last year’s wish recipients. With the help of many generous donations and corporate sponsors such as 3M, Alkon, BASF, CCC, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Finishmaster, Hertz Rentals, Lansing Cleaners and United Services, CARSTAR generated enough funds for Make-A-Wish to provide the wishes.

The first wish was pledged to Amanda, a 17-year-old young lady from Schererville who wished to go on a cruise with her family to Hawaii. She has taken her trip and was very excited to tell everyone at the golf outing all about the adventures and the much needed family vacation. Amanda has T-cell leukemia.

Alexis, an 8-year-old from Crown Point, was excited about her upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. Alexis has a condition called osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. She has gone for her six-month check-up and is currently in remission.

Jacob, a 7-year-old from Hobart, was last year’s recipient. He came to share photos of his trip and to draw the winner of the autographed 2010 Ryder Cup Flag.

"CARSTAR is blessed to be a part of something this big," said CARSTAR Marketing Manager Charlotte Hess. "It is our honor to partner with so many great people and companies for such a wonderful cause. We are already talking about our Ninth Annual Charity Golf Outing. A huge thank you to those helping us to help them!"
