AkzoNobel will welcome Acoat Selected members, distributors and special guests to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii, Feb. 12-14 for the winter 2014 North American Performance Group (NAPG) meeting.

The winter gathering is one of two national meetings held each year under the AkzoNobel Sikkens Acoat Selected umbrella, which is one of the longest running business services programs found within the collision repair industry today.

Two early-bird sessions will be available on Wednesday, Feb. 12, featuring:

  • “An Industry Update” by Greg Horn of Mitchell International
  • “The KPI’s of Integrity Leadership” by consultant and speaker Marcy Tieger of Symphony Advisors LLC

Attendees will gather for an afternoon of shop tours at four leading Acoat Selected member shops. Each business will highlight processes within their operations that have enabled them to thrive in today’s highly competitive market while at the same time build a sustainable future for tomorrow. Businesses include:

  • Oka’s Auto Body – FIT Sustainability Award winners and sustainability experts. First Hawaiian shop to go 100 percent solar.
  • Island Fender – Well-known for their “Street Sheet” speech-to-text estimate process.
  • Kuroda Autobody – Innovative parts storage system, showcasing their “open air” lift.
  • Acme Fender – Experts in maximizing small space for high productivity and organizational efficiency.

The meeting will kick off with a gala welcome reception on Feb. 12. It will be followed by two full days of individual, group and distributor meetings on Thursday, Feb. 13 and Friday, Feb. 14. A new workshop has been added this year for honored guests as well as a special “Walk-About” program dedicated to building sustainability within the collision repair industry. Members and guests will be treated to a traditional Hawaiian luau complete with a fire-and-knife show.

“We are pleased to be able to share this special time in our business history as well as this extraordinary location with this elite group of business professionals,” said Barry Rinehart, A&AC North American business services manager. “Many who will join us have been part of the AkzoNobel family from our earliest days. Their longevity is a proof statement to the value that this program provides.”
