New Jersey Once Again Tops List of Costliest Auto Insurance in U.S.

Drivers in the state paid an average of $1,220 on car insurance policies in 2012.

According to an annual industry report, New Jersey once again has the costliest auto insurance in the U.S.

Drivers in the state paid an average of $1,220 on car insurance policies in 2012. It marks the third straight year that New Jersey has topped the list, reported NJ.com.

Coming in at second was Washington D.C. at $1,155, followed by New York with $1,152. And paying the least for auto insurance at $535: Idaho.
