Tony Lombardozzi and Peter Abdelmaseh, owners of Superare Advertising & Marketing Agency, announced they will host a seminar titled “Running a More Profitable Body Shop” on Dec. 5th from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This seminar will address vital issues such as determining a shop’s true costs for loaded labor, paint and materials, parts and more.
“If a shop owner thinks his or her true costs for a labor hour is the wage that is paid to the technician, or that the true cost of paint, materials and parts is the amount on the invoice, then he or she needs to attend this seminar to understand reality,” says Lombardozzi, a longtime independent shop advocate. “Only when a shop owner fully understands true costing methods can he or she even begin to make real profits.”
Abdelmaseh added, “Shop owners complain that they’re unable to set their own selling prices, yet, if they could – and we believe they can and must do so – most of them wouldn’t know where to begin. Setting prices begins with knowing the true cost, and that cost is much more than the amount that shows up on invoices and paychecks.”
Lombardozzi and Abdelmaseh will also explore other topics such as:
- Understanding the real “exit cost” of a repair
- Setting your own prices just like any truly independent business – yes you can!
- Determining the real losses you incur due to the DRP system – staggering!
“Shop owners need to know the extent to which they give away their profits just to ‘accommodate’ insurers. Maybe by understanding how much is lost and wasted for no good reason, some will begin to just say no,” said Lombardozzi.
The seminar will be held at the Best Western Plus Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn), located in North Haven, Conn. The seminar costs $249. Additional people from the same shop may attend for $179. Credit card payments can be made on the Superare website. Payment by check information is on the registration form.
