GEICO Uses “SmartDogs” in Distracted Driving Campaign

GEICO has released a new ad campaign featuring man's best friends – the "smartdogs," who are here to teach humans to stop using their phones while driving.

GEICO has released a new ad campaign featuring man’s best friends – the “smartdogs,” who are here to teach humans to stop using their phones while driving.

The insurer’s commercial shows dogs being trained to stop distracted driving by taking away their human’s smartphone. While the “smartdogs” aren’t going to ever be hitting the market, GEICO urges viewers to use the “Do Not Disturb While Driving” feature on their phones instead.

GEICO said in a release that only one in five drivers set the “Do Not Disturb While Driving” on their smartphones while they are on the road. The insurer noted that 1 in 3 crashes involve smartphone usage while on the road.
