An Illinois body shop is doing its part to bail out one of the Detroit Three, albeit on an extremely local level. Russ Hoernis, president of Hoernis Auto Body in Belleville, Ill., has offered to give a check for $100 to the first 40 people to buy a new car from local dealership Wagner Buick-Pontiac-GMC.
Hoernis has dubbed the promotion a “stimulus package” and “community reinvestment” project to drum up business for the dealer, which Hoernis provides collision repair services for.
“The business relationship between Wagner and Hoernis is a strong bond,” Hoernis stated in a written release. “Keeping that bond strong by promoting and enabling additional local business will ensure the continued flow of tax revenue to our community, the City of Belleville.”
Customers who buy a new car from Wagner’s must pick up their checks at Hoernis’ shop, giving community members a chance to get familiar with his business as well.
