Nebraska Autobody Association Takes Industry Issues to State Capitol

The Nebraska Autobody Association (NABA) recently opened state
senators’ eyes to industry issues with a briefing at the State Capitol.

NABA presented an automotive PowerPoint presentation that NABA Director
and Lobbyist Norbert Zaenglein said really hit home with the senators.

“The PowerPoint was definitely an asset as it helped convey a dramatic
picture of emerging automotive technologies along with the economic
opportunities these technologies create for the State of Nebraska,”
Zaenglein said.

Also in attendance was the Speaker of the House and the Department of
Insurance’s Chief of Market Conduct Regulation. The Capitol briefing
was designed to acquaint the legislature with trends and developments
in automotive technology and to underscore the role of the collision
repair industry as a vital component of Nebraska’s economy.

“You know that your legislative strategy is working when you can get
half of your elected representatives in a room for over 45 minutes,”
Zaenglein said. “We took a chance on a unique approach and our efforts
were rewarded by an exceptional turnout.”

NABA’s legislative day at the Capitol was the beginning of an overall
strategy to familiarize Nebraska’s legislative body with the
complexities of the collision repair industry. NABA plans to approach
specific legislators soon and examine with them how specific
legislation can help claimants receive the coverage promised by their
policy of insurance.
