GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers Joins NABC as Diamond Level Member

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) announced that GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers has committed to NABC at the Diamond Membership level, the highest level of NABC corporate sponsorship.

GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers provides recycled, remanufactured and reconditioned OEM parts throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Together with its sister company, Pick N Pull Auto Dismantlers, GreenLeaf processes over 300,000 vehicles annually.

GreenLeaf and its parent company Schnitzer Steel also have worked with the Ronald McDonald House, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and United Way, as well as provided financial support to Red Cross and Mercy Corps relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the Southeast Asia tsunami of late 2004.

In addition to its humanitarian efforts, GreenLeaf sponsored a fire fighter extrication conference in Dallas, donating close to 100 vehicles for life-saving training for first responders, who often don’t have experience extricating passengers from modern vehicles.

“GreenLeaf’s sustained efforts to be a good corporate citizen are impressive,” says NABC Executive Director Chuck Sulkala. “In light of their exemplary record working on behalf of the disadvantaged, it’s no surprise they extended their involvement with NABC. Their fine network of industry contacts will greatly assist our membership efforts.”

GreenLeaf participated closely with NABC last year when the recycler donated parts for NABC’s Recycled Rides program.

“Recycled Rides was a call to action—a great opportunity for us to pitch in and help,” says Mary Lou Silveira, director of sales and marketing at GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers. “The more closely we worked with NABC, the more impressed we were with their mission, so we went forward to lend additional support by being a corporate member. Membership will provide us a great opportunity to learn about the industry segments that participate in NABC, their needs, and how our company can best address them.”

Sulkala extended the NABC’s thanks to GreenLeaf for becoming a corporate sponsor.
