Three more auto repair facilities have received recognition as “GreenLink Shops” from the Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR).
The GreenLink Shop status, an extension of CCAR’s CCAR-GreenLink Environmental Compliance Assistance Center and S/P2® Safety and Pollution Prevention E-learning Program, is designed to promote consumer confidence in local automotive repair facilities’ environmental/safety awareness and stewardship.
The new GreenLink Shops are:
Fort Washington Auto Body, Inc., Oxon Hill, Md.
Portsmouth Auto Body, Portsmouth, N.H.
Service King-Kingwood, Kingwood, Texas
“The addition of these three shops brings our total to 86 GreenLink Shops recognized since the program’s introduction in January 2010,” said Daren Fristoe, CCAR president and chief operating officer. “As more and more auto repair facilities incorporate environmental and safety stewardship in their business and marketing plans, we look forward to working with additional facilities in the coming months to promote the green, safe approach in their respective markets.”
Repair facilities seeking the GreenLink Shop recognition must maintain high standards of excellence in environmental, health and safety (EHS) practices in four categories: business operations, employee training, safety compliance and environmental management. The CCAR initiative recognizes both auto mechanical service facilities and collision repair shops, with separate criteria established for each type of business.
