A 17-year-old Maryland girl may be a collision repair technician now, but one day she hopes to imitate Agent Scully from the X-Files in the FBI.
With the money Katelyn Troxler earns working at a body shop, she hopes to put herself through college, where she plans to study psychology and forensics. She’s currently a student aide with the junior Collision Repair class at Washington County Technical High School. The plan is to then work in collision repair while attending community college, eventually transferring to a four-year university.
Troxler got her interest in cars from her grandfather and owns a muscle car which she wants to learn how to paint.
Among the requirements for graduating from her technical high school is completion of the SkillsUSA Level 1 and Level 2 Professional Development Program. She’ll also have to take the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation test as a senior.
