Caliber Collision Gets Former Homeless Family Back on Road with Recycled Ride

Yvette Coteat was presented with the keys and the title to a 2007 Chevy Tahoe at the Caliber Collision facility. Her family was nominated for the gift by Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, whose mission is to provide homeless families with a safety net of services so they can become independent and sustainable as a family unit.

Coteat and her children, ages 4 to 17, moved to Phoenix in April 2011 for a safe, fresh start in life. After plans to temporarily stay with a friend fell through, Coteat turned to Family Promise for emergency shelter.  With the organization’s support and her own perseverance and determination, she found a job at a bakery and eventually qualified for housing on her own.

“Our goal at Caliber Collision is to restore our customers to the rhythm of their lives, and we hope this gift of reliable transportation enables Ms. Coteat to continue her remarkable journey in restoring a stable lifestyle for her family,” said Michael Quinn, Caliber Collision vice president of community & industry relations.

Added Frank Schubert, Allstate exclusive agency owner, "Giving back to our local communities is an important part of our mission. We’re honored to partner with Caliber Collision in celebrating Ms. Coteat’s accomplishments and efforts to make a better life for herself and her children.”

The vehicle gifting is the 6th of more than 12 Recycled Rides that Caliber Collision of North Scottsdale plans to donate this year across California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
